Product Description
"Zero-compromise" concealed carry grips for the Smith & Wesson J-Frame line. Before, wheelgun folks had to choose between shooting comfort (rubber grips) or carry comfort (wood or G10 grips). Recoil Rider revolver grips provide both, featuring the recoil absorption of rubber grips with the snag-free comfort of wooden grips. Plus, they reduce the weight for easier carry and improve the grip angle of your S&W J-Frame for a more natural point-of-aim. If you're carrying your revolver AIWB or in the pocket, these utilitarian grips will provide a superior shooting and CCW experience.
What is the difference between the CCW Grip and the Boot Grip?
Features
- Absorb recoil: Recoil Rider revolver grips cover the backstrap with a rubbery material that mitigates shock. The hotter the ammo, the greater the reduction in recoil.
- Snag-free: Unlike traditional rubber grips, Recoil Rider revolver grips won't snag your clothing or rub against your skin when carrying AIWB or in the pocket.
- Natural point-of-aim: Improved grip angle mitigates the J-Frame's "Point-Down" feeling which required bending the wrist at an unnatural angle.
- Low-Profile: Conceals like boot grips but provides a three-finger grip with a spot for your pinky.
- Optimized trigger reach: Backstrap thickness provides a more natural and comfortable trigger finger placement.
- Lighter weight: Reduce the weight by over an ounce compared to traditional grips, offering the easiest CCW experience available.

Sizing Guide

- Standard Fit: Optimized for small and medium-sized hands. If your hand is equal or smaller than the measurements above, choose this size. This size offers the easiest draw for pocket carry due to the narrower width.
- Large Fit: Optimized for larger hands. If you hand is equal or larger than the measurements above, choose this size. This size offers the most recoil reduction due to the wider and thicker backstrap.
- Note that the sizes differ in width and backstrap thickness (not length).

If you are having difficulty installing or removing the grip, I recommend heating the grips lightly and evenly with a hair dryer on low heat. This will make them more pliable and easier to install and remove. Do not use excessive or prolonged heat, as this could cause discoloration.

Fits perfectly and securely on my S&W 340PD I carry for personal protection while camping/hiking/trailing.
The thick padding on the grip makes putting .357 through it significantly more tolerable, with .38/+P ammo benefiting as well.
The texture of the grip is perfect: not sticky or tacky, and has the right amount of knurling/texture to preventing it from being slippery.
I'm sure this will vary person-to-person but the Large option of the grip actually fit the shape of my hand perfectly. I have larger than average hands with long fingers, and the bottom has just enough for my pinky to hold securely without sacrificing the rounded ergonomics on the bottom.
Quality product. 100% happy with my purchase. Will recommend to anyone looking for a quality J-Frame grip.
Made it to the range to try these grips out. Was very pleased with the recoil. I have a Smith & Wesson 940 9mm Davidson Exclusive that came with VZ boot grips. With those grips I would get a sore wrist after 25 rounds or so. Now with these new Recoil Rider grips, I can shoot a full box of 50 rounds and not notice any soreness in my 68 year old wrist. The grips conceal very well AIWB or in the pocket of cargo pants/shorts.
I’m very happy with these grips and with my XL size hands I still get a little bit of my pinkie on them. The install was as easy as it gets.
Thanks for a great grip.
This grip is a game changer. Easy to install and it fits like a dream. I loved it so much that I went ahead and ordered a second one.
Keep up the great work!
I was disappointed the first time I took my S&W 638 to the range; in the vernacular, I couldn't hit a cow on the teat with a tin cup. The recoil was worse than I expected, and it rocked so much in my hand that the cylinder release cut a divot in my thumb knuckle.
I knew I needed better control, so I ordered a set of Recoil Rider grips. They went on with a bit of coaxing and I liked the feel of them, not too hard yet not too grippy either. My pinkie fit on the bottom (mostly) and the backstrap of the revolver was now covered, so I hoped that would mitigate some of sharp recoil. I haven't shot it a lot since then but what I have was definitely an improvement. I expect they'll perform even better with time and acclimation. So far, I'm pretty satisfied.
Great grips, excellent fit!! Major improvement over stock grips!!
