Product Description
"Zero-compromise" concealed carry grips for the Taurus Small Frame Revolver line, including the Taurus 856. Before, wheelgun folks had to choose between shooting comfort (rubber grips) or carry comfort (wood or G10 grips). Recoil Rider revolver grips provide both, featuring the recoil absorption of rubber grips with the snag-free comfort of wooden grips. Plus, they reduce the weight for easier carry and improve the grip angle of your Taurus 856 for a more natural point-of-aim. If you're carrying your revolver AIWB or in the pocket, these utilitarian grips will provide a superior shooting and CCW experience.
Features
- Absorb recoil: Recoil Rider revolver grips cover the backstrap with a rubbery material that mitigates shock. The hotter the ammo, the greater the reduction in recoil.
- Snag-free: Unlike traditional rubber grips, Recoil Rider revolver grips won't snag your clothing or rub against your skin when carrying AIWB or in the pocket.
- Natural point-of-aim: Improved grip angle mitigates the 856's "Point-Down" feeling which required bending the wrist at an unnatural angle.
- Low-Profile: Conceals like boot grips but provides a three-finger grip with a spot for your pinky.
- Optimized trigger reach: Backstrap thickness provides a more natural and comfortable trigger finger placement.
- Lighter weight: Reduce the weight by almost an ounce compared to traditional grips, offering the easiest CCW experience available.
Compatibility
- Compatible with all Taurus "Small Frame Revolver" models: Taurus 327 / 380 / 605 / 650 / 850 / 856 / 856UL / 905 / 942, including all hammered and concealed-hammer variants.
- Speedloader Compatible.
Weight Comparison
- Taurus 856 UL (stock): 15.7 oz
- Taurus 856 UL (Recoil Rider): 14.9 oz
Sizing Guide

- Standard Fit: Optimized for small and medium-sized hands. If your hand is equal or smaller than the measurements above, choose this size.
- Large Fit: Optimized for larger hands. If you hand is equal or larger than the measurements above, choose this size. This size offers the most recoil reduction.
- Note that the sizes differ in width and backstrap thickness (not length). Consequently, both sizes are recommended for AIWB and pocket-carry. The standard size may have a slight advantage for pocket-carry because the slightly thinner grip could enable an easier draw, depending on your pocket size.

Used the Taurus 605 with Recoil Rider grips for the first time today. Shot about 30 rounds of 125gr 357 magnum along with another 30 of 158gr 38 spl and it felt comfortable. Normally with factory grips I would have a little tenderness in my palm but not today.
A solid product . I have 3xl to 4xl hands. The large fit grips make the trigger easy to pull smoothly and my groups have become smaller now. Very snug fit in the frame also . I will shop here again.
Great grips, love the shape! The texture was a bit weird for me with the way the grip is made (personal issue). I wrapped one or two layers of hockey tape and it's perfect for me. I would def recommend if you want s grip with a little more trigger reach.
I have a Taurus 856 UL, and usually I give up after 50 rounds due to the abusive recoil. Yesterday, I put 100 rounds though it, including 20 of +p defensive. Get Them!
Fantastic! I have a box of grips for the small frame Taurus revolvers, and this one beats them all. The installation could not be easier, and they feel perfect. The increased trigger reach closely matches a k frame S&W for me, a big improvement from most grips. If you are hesitant to try them because they do not look “traditionall”, don’t worry, the gun points very naturally. Close your eyes and bring it up from a low ready and the sights are dead on. These are a real winner.
