Product Description
"Zero-compromise" concealed carry grips for the Taurus Small Frame Revolver line, including the Taurus 856, 605, and 85. Before, wheelgun shooters had to choose between shooting comfort (sticky rubber grips) or carry comfort (rigid wood or G10 grips). Recoil Rider revolver grips provide both, combining the recoil absorption of rubber grips with the snag-free carry comfort of wooden grips. Plus, they shed almost an entire ounce of weight for easier carry and improve the grip angle of your Taurus 856/605/85 for a more natural point-of-aim. Whether you're carrying your revolver AIWB or in a pocket, these grips deliver an upgraded shooting and CCW experience.
Features
- Recoil Absorption: Covers the backstrap with a cushioned, shock-mitigating material that tames even hot ammo.
- Snag-free Concealment: Unlike traditional rubber grips, Recoil Rider grips have a non-tacky exterior that glides against cover garments to prevent printing, shirt grabbing, or chafing your stomach during AIWB carry.
- Natural Point-of-Aim: Corrects the classic snubnose "pointing-down" angle, allowing your sights to align naturally like a modern semi-auto.
-
Low-Profile: Conceals like a two-finger boot grip while providing a full three-finger firing grip with a dedicated pinky rest.
- Optimized Trigger Reach: Adds backstrap depth for repeatable, comfortable index finger placement on the trigger.
-
Featherweight Carry: Saves almost an entire ounce compared to factory grip options, making your snubnose feel effortless in a pocket or waistband.
Compatibility
- Compatible with all Taurus "Small Frame Revolver" models: Taurus 856 (including Ultra-Lite), 605, 85, 327, 380, 650, 850, 905, and 942 (fits all exposed, shrouded, and concealed-hammer models).
- Speedloader Compatible.
Weight Comparison
- Taurus 856 UL (stock): 15.7 oz
- Taurus 856 UL (Recoil Rider): 14.9 oz
Sizing Guide

- Standard Fit: Best for small and medium-sized hands. (At or below chart measurements).
- Large Fit: Best for larger hands (At or above chart measurements). Thicker backstrap improves recoil reduction.
-
Concealment Note: Both sizes are fully optimized for AIWB and pocket carry. Choosing Large only increases grip width and backstrap thickness - overall length remains the same.
Assembly
If you are having difficulty installing or removing the grip, I recommend heating the grips lightly and evenly with a hair dryer on low heat. This will make them more pliable and easier to install and remove. Do not use excessive or prolonged heat, as this could cause discoloration.

The included stocks for my Taurus 327 TORO were too small for my hand. Specifically I had an issue with my trigger finger reaching my thumb. After installing the recoil rider XL this issue was completely resolved. 2 issues I now have with the RR stock. 1. After 15 or so trigger presses my hand is very sore. This is in part due to lack of grip strength which I will build over time. I didn’t however have this issue with either of my previous stocks. Something about the grip angle or stock width makes this harder to pull the trigger. 2. The angle of the grip creates a sharp edge which makes printing a little more obvious. I have had to dress around the gun more with the RR stock than I ever did before. That said I did not trust my life with my previous stocks as I would often have a roll by as my fingers would meet at the back of my trigger press. I am much more confident in the accuracy and functionality of my firearm with this new stock. My grip strength will improve with more practice. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has large hands. I would again like to comment that these are not for someone who wants to slap on new grips and go shoot a torture test session. Nor are they the best for deep concealment work. They do however make the gun more functional.
This is my second pair, I bought the cosmetic blem version and they still look perfect. I am hoping he makes the K frame grips soon!
Replaced the factory grip on my Taurus 856 with another brand and it didn't improve the fit for my hand. Read several reviews about the Recoil Riders and decided to try em. Well, the large grip made a difference. Comfortable and grippy. Improved the trigger reach for me and wasn't unreasonably priced. Thanks for making a great product!
Grips arrived. promptly. fit great, no problem installing, nice and snug
