I ordered these by mistake, thinking I was ordering the boot grips. I’m glad I did, because the extra little bit of grip you get for the pinky is perfect. The cushion of the grips is money. The recoil is still there, but the uncomfortable sting that snubbies deliver is gone. I’m outfitting the rest of my snubbies with these grips. The added length doesn’t inhibit pocket carry and the grips don’t grab or cling to the inside of the pocket.
I've yet to shoot my revolver with these grips but the fit, finish, and feel are excellent. These larger grips fill the hand and allow your pinky a spot on the grip. They're still very concealable as well.

For the money, the Recoil Riders line of grips is far superior to the stock and aftermarket grips that I have purchased in the past for my .357 revolvers (Kimber K6s, Ruger SP101, and S&W 640). Solid initial impression. Ergos are very good compared to the angle and designs of yester-era. Definitely more modern and provides pinky support despite being shorter. I am in-between sizes and will also be ordering the large to compare. My instinct suggests that if you are in-between sizes, to go with the large unless you need to max out concealment/profile.
I’ve been carrying a J Frame revolver daily in one configuration or another since 1987. Without exaggeration, I’m probably approaching 100,000 rounds fired on that platform. I have tried virtually every type of stocks: wood, rubber, nylon, you name it. I’ve probably tried every brand. Far and above the Recoil Rider grips have been the most comfortable at absorbing recoil, especially since my hands are getting a little old and sore at this point. Can’t recommend them enough.
The included stocks for my Taurus 327 TORO were too small for my hand. Specifically I had an issue with my trigger finger reaching my thumb. After installing the recoil rider XL this issue was completely resolved. 2 issues I now have with the RR stock. 1. After 15 or so trigger presses my hand is very sore. This is in part due to lack of grip strength which I will build over time. I didn’t however have this issue with either of my previous stocks. Something about the grip angle or stock width makes this harder to pull the trigger. 2. The angle of the grip creates a sharp edge which makes printing a little more obvious. I have had to dress around the gun more with the RR stock than I ever did before. That said I did not trust my life with my previous stocks as I would often have a roll by as my fingers would meet at the back of my trigger press. I am much more confident in the accuracy and functionality of my firearm with this new stock. My grip strength will improve with more practice. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has large hands. I would again like to comment that these are not for someone who wants to slap on new grips and go shoot a torture test session. Nor are they the best for deep concealment work. They do however make the gun more functional.
Finished up a brief range session with the 432UC and your grips. Super pleased with how they feel and mitigate recoil. My standard load is an MBC 98gr BB-WC going 850 fps, and they were much more comfortable. Next was the Lost River, heavy for caliber 130gr wide meplat going about 800 fps. With the CTC LG-405s, the recoil is rather unpleasant. Yours made the two loads nearly indistinguishable aside from the blast.
Thoughts:
The filament used is perfection.
- Doesn't stack fabric
- Doesn't stick to the hand until pressure is applied.
- Doesn't look cheap and layered
Sizing:
- These finger groves simply work for my hand size.
- Trigger reach is perfect
- High horn grip is comfortable, and mitigates recoil.
The flat / slab side is what drew me to these. I much prefer flat sided pistols, such as HK USP/c, P2000/Sk, as they present and track well. I had searched for "flat sided revolver grips" and your image was about the 16th one.
Coming from the CTC LG-405, the Recoil Rider allow an almost perfect windage index. With the additional material up at the horn, it also improves the elevation presentation. Only challenge is unwinding all the reps I have with the 405s, as they present high for me. With your grip, I don't need that downward cam input.

The new grip was perfect. Perfect fit, easy installation , grear quality , nice design and feel, and overall smaller than what the previous grip was ( which is what i was after ). The new grip paired with a Desantis nemesis holster is great for pocket carry.

Even though they are Charcoal, it looked like a lighter gray in all photos, which I liked. They are very dark Charcoal they look black to me. The grips are not long enough for my hand and I ordered the large my pinky finger has nothing to grip but air. Bummer on both! That said, I really liked the feel of the material and the style of the grips. Just to small for me . With the right sized hand I can see where they would be quite recoil adsorbing. I plan on putting them on my daughter's SDR.
This is my second pair, I bought the cosmetic blem version and they still look perfect. I am hoping he makes the K frame grips soon!
This made my Performance Center 642 much better. The Recoil Rider grip indexes straight in my hand and provides more recoil control than its size would suggest. It makes a J frame much easier to shoot well. Not as pretty as the stock grips, but they don't look half bad either. I hope they're eventually made for the Colt Cobra.

I have a 442UC that I rarely liked to IWB carry. after getting these grips with the ICON 2.0 Harrys holster... i carry comfortably all day long. they allow shooting 38+p no problem. I highly recommend these grips for J frame and I am hoping they get made for the K frame soon.
Fantastic item! 642 UC used to beat a hole in the side of my thumb, after swapping to these it sits properly in my hand and no longer does this.
I ordered this grip for a Smith and Wesson 640. It fits great and really reduces felt recoil. I am very impressed with the texture, it grips to your hand like rubber but does not get snagged on your clothes. It was hot and humid when I was shooting, so I sweated a lot but I did not have any issues holding onto it. I also like how it changes the grip angle, it produces a much more comfortable and natural aiming. I use a speed bees speed loader and it works very well with these grips, they do not interfere at all. I ordered the larger size and glad I did, it increased the length from the trigger to the back of the grip and makes it much easier to shoot.
I placed the order and within a couple hours got a notification that it had shipped. It did get lost at the post office and took about 2 weeks to get, but at no fault to the company. While watching the tracking, it seemed to be stuck at the post office it shipped from, so I emailed the company asking if they would be willing to contact the post office. The owner, David, emailed me back right away, he said he contacted the post office and would handle it for me, and he did. He stayed in contact the whole time, and let me know when they found it and that it was on its way to me.
The grip itself is amazing, I would buy it again in a heartbeat. But the customer service is what really impressed me, it is unheard of today. To not only take care of a shipping issue but the owner himself did it.
I purchased the standard-fit model for a female friend who's been shooting and carrying a S&W Model 60 with the 3" full-underlug barrel. After her purchase, we fitted the gun with Altamont's Altai grip, which did not encumber her with finger grooves and gave the shortest reach from back strap to face of trigger. However, with the wooden grip, she'd experience pain after firing two or three shots one-handed and discomfort around 20 shots when firing two-handed.
The Recoil Rifer CCW grip allows her to shoot one handed without pain as well as firing a "full" session two-handed with no discomfort afterward.
On the downside, the grip lacks enough recess to use an HKS 36 speedloader. I find this curious and I have the large-fit CCW grip on a Ruger SP101 on which the HKS speedloader works fine.

I have a S&W 340PD. Read a ton online about different grip options. I saw a lot of really good analysis of the options. I also saw how engaged the RR owner is on the platforms, explaining the product, helping with customer concerns, etc. That means a lot. Once I received the RR CCW grips, I installed (in about 30 seconds, easy breezy). No issue with fit into pocket or IWB holsters. A+ product. Firing this cannon is now fun!
The fit is very nice they give a nice firm grip I have a sp101 -s/w 638 and a ruger lcr grips all fit wonderfully…
Very good grips. If the small fingergroove grip is too big...these grips are the solution.
They do have room for your little pinky unlike the stock grips.
The back is squishy for recoil absorption.
The texture is grippy without
that sandpaper feel.
Really helps concealability.
