I ordered this grip for a Smith and Wesson 640. It fits great and really reduces felt recoil. I am very impressed with the texture, it grips to your hand like rubber but does not get snagged on your clothes. It was hot and humid when I was shooting, so I sweated a lot but I did not have any issues holding onto it. I also like how it changes the grip angle, it produces a much more comfortable and natural aiming. I use a speed bees speed loader and it works very well with these grips, they do not interfere at all. I ordered the larger size and glad I did, it increased the length from the trigger to the back of the grip and makes it much easier to shoot.
I placed the order and within a couple hours got a notification that it had shipped. It did get lost at the post office and took about 2 weeks to get, but at no fault to the company. While watching the tracking, it seemed to be stuck at the post office it shipped from, so I emailed the company asking if they would be willing to contact the post office. The owner, David, emailed me back right away, he said he contacted the post office and would handle it for me, and he did. He stayed in contact the whole time, and let me know when they found it and that it was on its way to me.
The grip itself is amazing, I would buy it again in a heartbeat. But the customer service is what really impressed me, it is unheard of today. To not only take care of a shipping issue but the owner himself did it.
I purchased the standard-fit model for a female friend who's been shooting and carrying a S&W Model 60 with the 3" full-underlug barrel. After her purchase, we fitted the gun with Altamont's Altai grip, which did not encumber her with finger grooves and gave the shortest reach from back strap to face of trigger. However, with the wooden grip, she'd experience pain after firing two or three shots one-handed and discomfort around 20 shots when firing two-handed.
The Recoil Rifer CCW grip allows her to shoot one handed without pain as well as firing a "full" session two-handed with no discomfort afterward.
On the downside, the grip lacks enough recess to use an HKS 36 speedloader. I find this curious and I have the large-fit CCW grip on a Ruger SP101 on which the HKS speedloader works fine.

I have a S&W 340PD. Read a ton online about different grip options. I saw a lot of really good analysis of the options. I also saw how engaged the RR owner is on the platforms, explaining the product, helping with customer concerns, etc. That means a lot. Once I received the RR CCW grips, I installed (in about 30 seconds, easy breezy). No issue with fit into pocket or IWB holsters. A+ product. Firing this cannon is now fun!
The fit is very nice they give a nice firm grip I have a sp101 -s/w 638 and a ruger lcr grips all fit wonderfully…
Very good grips. If the small fingergroove grip is too big...these grips are the solution.
They do have room for your little pinky unlike the stock grips.
The back is squishy for recoil absorption.
The texture is grippy without
that sandpaper feel.
Really helps concealability.
The feel to hand is excellent. Allows for better pointablity. Would like a touch more palm swell but that is subjective to personal taste. Overall, an excellent upgrade.
Range sessions with my Smith & Wesson 442 Ultimate Carry were notoriously short. That changed with the purchase of CCW grips from Recoilrider. The grips tamed the recoil dramatically on Speer Gold Dot 135gr+p defense ammunition. Shooting 148-grain wadcutters and standard pressure practice ammo was a breeze. Some believe J-frame revolvers are meant to be carried a lot and shot a little. But becoming truly proficient in the use of one requires practice, and Recoilrider grips make that practice much more pleasant.
Have yet to shoot with them yet but they fit my hand perfectly and they look great.
I love the aesthetic, safety, and reliability of carrying a J-frame, but frankly, they’re hard to shoot, and I have big hands, so stock grips, and several replacement grips I tried didn’t give me a solid enough grip to where I could pull the trigger without my thumb blocking the final millimeters of trigger pull. The high horn grip of the recoil riders, and the improved grip angle made my S&W 432 shootable.
Love my new Recoil Rider grip on my Ruger LCR .327! Felt recoil is much less than with the factory grip, especially with a place to now support my pinkie! No snag material and just a great look on the gun are pluses too! Have already ordered another one for a different revolver. Excellent product!
I recently bought this 3D printed handgun grip and I am pleased with the overall quality. The finish is smooth and looks good on the firearm. The fit is secure without any wobble or gaps. It adds a nice amount of padding to the grip, which makes it comfortable to hold and noticeably reduces felt recoil at the range. Overall, it is a solid and well made upgrade.
This is not a comprehensive review, but merely a first impressions. I've had the grip, a Recoil Rider Standard grip for the Ruger LCR, for about sixteen days, and a little more than half of that I was traveling, so I have yet to shoot the pistol with the grip on it. However, compared to the other grips I've had on the LCR, this one has given me the best initial reaction.
I liked the tackiness of the Hogue Tamer Monogrip that came with the LCR, but part of the reason this grip exist is because the Hogue, in addition to being a lottle too short for my liking, sticks to clothing, making it difficult to draw from concealment. This grip doesn't, while providing slightly more length, and seemingly comparable cushion.
This is the fourth grip I've had on the LCR, and the only one, save for the Hogue that didn't make it feel like the LCR wanted to jump out of my hand the moment I picked it up. Also, the length isn't much longer than the Hogue, but I can get a good three and a half finger grip, whereas the Hogue is only a three finger grip. It might not sound like much, but it does made quite a difference for me.
So far, I'm very pleased with the Recoil Rider grip. I can't wait to test it out on the range.
They fit, but I'm not running them. They do not secure the hammer pin on the LCR like the factory grips are designed to do. I emailed Recoil Rider and I was told to use a piece of painters tape instead.
The grips are 3d printed, which was not apparent to me when I ordered them. Just worth mentioning.
Replaced the factory grip on my Taurus 856 with another brand and it didn't improve the fit for my hand. Read several reviews about the Recoil Riders and decided to try em. Well, the large grip made a difference. Comfortable and grippy. Improved the trigger reach for me and wasn't unreasonably priced. Thanks for making a great product!

I continue to buy these as I have several Ruger LCRs. I bought this one for the 9 mm. I was pretty interested to see how I would do it as I keep reading the 9 mm kicks too much. It didn't with the boot grips I had on it, so I took the leap and bought these as they are lighter, softer, and at least as compact. I wish I'd done it sooner.
It took the gun down to exactly 16 oz, and the recoil is negligible. I attribute this to the Ruger tenon polymer setup, but also these fine grips. Between the two it's a marriage made in heaven, as became evident when I fired several cylinders full of Federal BPLE.
Don’t bother with big name grips, or expensive exotics.
These grips are comfortable, very utilitarian, because the grip distance is perfect! I have Boot Grip on LCR ..38, CCW’s on LCR 9mm & S&W J frame 360. Definitely helps absorb felt recoil, grip not too soft or rubbery, perfect for AIWB!
I soldiered for 40 years, not claiming anything other than these are as perfect a grip I’ve used on a J frame or LCR.
Makes the 638 much more pleasurable to shoot and still can pocket carry.
The grips are fantastic. They fit well on my j frame 640 perfect. It helps with the recoil, just ordered some for my 649. After searching for a good grip that well for me I found it. Highly recommend them. Semper Fidelis
Love my recoil rider grips. I have them on three LCRs. Order the boot version for my normally carried LCRx. The concealment advantage of the j-frame no longer exists. Recoil Rider grips slide easily out without hanging onto clothing and absorb recoil very well. If you carry a J-frame yet admire the smooth trigger if the Ruger LCR, Recoil Rider is your answer.
I got the standard size Recoil Rider CCW grips for my S&W J-Frame and loved them, so I just bought the Large size CCW grips for my Ruger LCR in .357. They are about the same size as the two-finger rubber grips that came with the LCR, but they allow you to get a third finger on the grip and control the muzzle flip much better.
They are very soft, even softer than the standard size Recoil Rider grips on my J-Frame. These grips completely eliminate any snap or discomfort associated with shooting .38 Special through my LCR. I have not tried .357 yet, but I can shoot .38 Special +P all day with these grips.
These grips combine a smooth snag-free surface and excellent ergonomics with shooting comfort and better recoil control. I literally can shoot my small revolvers better, faster and with more accuracy when using Recoil Riders. If you own a revolver that Recoil Rider makes grips for, buy them! You will not regret it.
Just make sure to follow the instructions in the provided videos to make installation easier. In the case of the LCR, the grip screw will bottom out, so stop tightening when the video says to stop tightening!
I have been through a lot of revolver grips, especially smaller frames. Your grips truly are a game changer. At first I thought the angle would be hard to learn but, it's great. The recoil reduction truly isn't marketing. It simply works.
I told this company as soon as they have grips for charter arms I would buy them. I purchased them about 10 min after getting the e-mail they were available. I have them on a taurus 856 UL, and now a charter arms bulldog .44 special. They work great.
They didn’t work for me. They made the gun sit at a weird angle, kind of uncomfortable. I didn’t even take them to the range. I guess you can’t please everybody
